Sonu Mathew, PhD.
Engineering Associate
Sonu Mathew has contributed to a variety of traffic operations and safety projects in North Carolina and Maryland. Before joining Kittelson, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Sonu’s project experience includes crash data analysis and modeling, development of volume estimation techniques, development of crash modification factors, vehicular and transit travel time reliability analysis, microsimulation analysis, and connected and autonomous vehicle research. His software experience includes ArcGIS/ArcGISPro, Synchro, and Vissim. Sonu instructed a course on Traffic Engineering and co-instructed a course on Urban Systems Engineering. He has published/presented more than 30 Research papers in journals and at various international conferences. In his spare time, Sonu enjoys spending time with his family, playing soccer, and watching soccer.
