Sarah Brown joined Kittelson in the Wilmington, North Carolina, office as a Transportation Analyst in August 2021. Sarah’s expertise is equity and mobility justice within transportation planning and research. Her recent project experience has included developing an equity analysis framework for intersection control evaluation processes for State DOTs around the US; developing a GIS-based equity analysis of communities for corridor studies; identifying equity priority populations and preparing engagement strategies and materials for transit-oriented development projects; organizing qualitative data analysis and mixed method research for mobility justice research projects; executing plan reviews and synthesis for a variety of transportation projects; and GIS mapping and analysis of existing conditions for various transportation and transit projects. Sarah also contributes to national research projects at Kittelson, and works on a variety of FHWA, NCHRP, and TCRP transportation safety research projects. Her software experience includes Microsoft Excel, ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, and Dedoose. Before joining Kittelson, Sarah contributed to various bike/ped safety research projects, with a specific focus on Safe Systems and Vision Zero during her time as a research assistant at the University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center.
