Justin Bansen
Senior Principal Engineer

Justin is a senior principal engineer who is active in a variety of transportation and traffic engineering projects throughout the country, with an emphasis on traffic operations, functional design, safety, and roundabouts. He also provides ongoing support to the Florida DOT in areas of growth management and transportation planning. Justin is active in research at the state and national levels, and regularly serves as an instructor of three-day short courses on the topics of Highway Capacity Manual and Roundabout Planning/Design. He served as a primary author for developing the 2nd edition of FHWA’s Roundabouts: An Informational Guide. He was also a co-author of the Kansas Roundabout Guide, and assisted Florida DOT in developing guidelines for mid-block pedestrian crossings and in investigating Innovative Operational Safety Improvements at Unsignalized Intersections.
