In Je Lee
Transportation Analyst
In Je is naturally inquisitive and driven by a desire to understand the world around him. He holds a master’s degree in transportation engineering and a PhD in urban and regional planning from the University of Florida, and his research journey began with the question: Why do pedestrians cross at mid-block, where there are no protected crosswalks? In Je’s work merges curiosity with technology. He applies computer vision analysis to uncover hidden patterns that impact pedestrian safety and reveal how streetscapes affect pedestrian behaviors that lead to mid-block crashes. His expertise spans pedestrian safety, geospatial modeling, data science, and leveraging emerging technologies to tackle transportation challenges. With a passion for creating vibrant, people-centered cities, In Je envisions safe, connected urban spaces that allow people to navigate freely and comfortably using diverse transportation options. His goal is to foster environments where every journey feels effortless and enriching, whether by foot, bike, or vehicle. Outside of work, In Je enjoys playing tennis, running, hitting the gym, and discovering new places to connect with the community.
