Asif Mahmud, PhD
Engineering Associate
Asif Mahmud graduated from Penn State University (PSU) with a PhD in civil engineering. He majored in transportation engineering and minored in statistics. At PSU, he served as a graduate research assistant in the Urban Transportation Systems Group, where he worked on different projects focusing on transportation safety and demand modeling. He has an interest in developing statistical and econometric models and implementing them using different programming languages. He has experience in several programming languages such as Python, R, and MATLAB. Apart from academic work, he is involved in several national and institution level organizations. For his contributions, he was awarded a 2021 Student Leader Scholarship by PSU. Outside of the office, Asif enjoys summer gardening and likes to play Cricket, Tennis, and board games. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies and soccer games with his family and friends.
