Are our roadways ready for connected and automated vehicles? In a webinar by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) on September 29, Kittelson’s Bastian Schroeder and Abby Morgan will join Brian Dunn from Oregon Department of Transportation and Tom Creasey from Caliper Corporation to present findings from a national pooled fund study on planning level capacity impacts of connected and automated vehicles (CAVs).

This study, funded by eleven DOTs and spearheaded by Oregon DOT, is measuring how CAVs will impact capacity at different levels of market penetration and system aggressiveness. Agencies will be able to use this information to more reasonably estimate capacity impacts of CAVs on freeways and arterials as they plan for a connected and automated future.

Following 60 minutes of presentations, attendees will have 30 minutes to ask questions of presenters. To learn more about the webinar and RSVP, visit TRB’s website.
