Mark’s career at Kittelson began more than 30 years ago. What he enjoys most is working with talented and passionate people to solve challenging transportation problems. He has a passion for projects that push the boundaries and advance our understanding of transportation. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in national research projects for both National Academy of Science and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Mark also enjoys teaching: he has been a guest lecturer at local universities and taught short courses to transportation professionals around the United States and abroad. From January 2010 to December 2019, Mark served as the firm’s president and chief executive officer. His hobbies include enjoying the outdoors with family and friends and cooking anything that can be prepared on a barbeque.
